Students with robots

On 2 October 2025, the Nirvana Global Foundation proudly hosted a Robotics Celebration Event at Thabo Mbeki Full Service School, marking an important milestone in our journey to empower young learners with future-ready skills in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics.

The event celebrated the Unearthed Season of the FIRST LEGO League, a global robotics program that encourages learners to explore real-world challenges through science, technology, engineering, and teamwork.

How FIRST LEGO League Supports Our Mission

Programs like FIRST LEGO League perfectly align with our vision because they encourage learners to develop problem‑solving skills, learn engineering concepts, work in diverse teams, and build innovative solutions for real community challenges.

Three Accessible Adventurous teams were launched: Lego Wonderers, Smart Rovers, and Blue Innovators – each with 10 learners and a 50/50 gender balance.

Industry representatives from Hula Minerals Engineering and Processing (Mr Charles Mabitsela, Site Manager; and Ms Pedi Tema, Safety Officer) encouraged learners to think about robot safety, reliability, and design improvements.

We also thank School Principal Mr Pesha, Councillor Khomotso Bopape, and SGB Member Margaret Lebotse for their support.

Learners will now continue developing their projects – and this is only the beginning.
